Myotherapy & Massage Treatments
What Is Myotherapy?
Myotherapy is a form of soft tissue therapy that addresses injuries in affected muscles, joints and nerves within the body. This type of therapy targets the source of the injury and any potential underlying issues which may cause the pain and discomfort.
A Myotherapist has a deep understanding and wide range of knowledge covering Human Biology, Musculoskeletal (Myotherapy) Anatomy and its function.
Myotherapy addresses this by targeting the pain receptors within the tissue, and further by improving the affected skeletal imbalances and their tissue connections. Through extensive theoretical and practical training, a Myotherapist can conduct and interpret physical assessments on muscle, joint and nerve structures.
Based on the assessment outcomes, treatment may include:
- Myofascial release (stretching of fascia)
- Dry needling and electro dry needling
- Joint mobilisation
- Muscle Energy Techniques (MET)
- Trigger point therapy
- Cupping
Conditions that Myotheray can help address:
- Sciatica
- Myofascial pain
- Tendinopathies
- Post-injury or post-surgical rehabilitation support
- Frozen shoulder
- TMJ (jaw) dysfunction
Therapy Junction focuses on aiding the healing and recovery of muscles and surrounding soft tissue after these major orthopedic procedures and conditions:
